  • Thesis WIP

so this is work in progress.  I modeled, rigged, textured, and animated this little fella.  However, the animation is pretty much a quick animation test.  No facial expression or any feet movements.  It's a little caterpillar chasing after some invisible bug flying around.  Enjoy :)

unfortunately, the rig on this model didn't work as well as I wanted, so i took it all off and re-rigged it again later on.  I'll show it as soon as I finish blocking the rest of my animation.

  • We...moved....finally...

So last weekend, thanks to my parents and my cousin Sofia....we finally moved outta our old apartment.  I'm finally finally FINALLY getting my own room.... (tears)  You don't know how it feels to sleep in the living room smelling like whatever you cooked that night, not to mention I have no privacy.  Ok, so I don't have anything to hide, but I feel more relaxed when I have my own room.

Moving honestly...was a nightmare.  On the first day, I was finally recovering from a horrible flu that I got a week ago.  However, we didn't call it a night til 3 in the morning and we had to wake up at 8am on the next day.  So guess what? My flu got worse yay~     ....Orz

The second day was crappy since I had no energy, but we were in a hurry to move outta the old place….so no rest.  The only way to keep myself up was to rest a couple minutes while we were transporting stuff to the new place….which is like 10 min away.  I was pretty much panting like a dog all day while carrying furniture up and down the stairs.  To make the matter worse, my car broke down completely on the 4th trip and since it was a Saturday, we can’t tow the car to anywhere.  Eventually, we pushed the car into a parking space and just left it there til Monday morning to have it towed.

Anyway, it took 3 days and 6 trips with two mini-vans to get the job done.  It was hectic with all the moving and cleaning, but at the end, it’s all worth it.  The new apartment is extremely nice and each unit has its own washer and dryer.  No more “please insert x amount of quarters” crap!  We got our own hell yeah!  In addition to that, the apartment facilities here are beyond my imagination…  it has an in-door lap swimming pool with warm water year-round, a sauna, a steam room, a fitness center, and a spa.  Talk about luxurious…

So here are a few pictures of the unit that we live in.  I’ll have pictures of the facilities up later:

Ta-da~  there it is.   I didn't take pic of Walter's room cuz I respect his privacy.  It's a pretty big place and more importantly...i have my own room!  ...However the rent is also crazy...2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms for $2050.  This does not include water/sewage or electricity bill.  But i'm not paying so....muwahaha..

  • Long Time No Blog

Well, school is kicking my butt harder than before now that I'm taking Pixar class.  The class is friggin intense, but nevertheless I honestly feel like I learned a whole lot more in this class than all the classes I've taken in the past two years combined.  It's pretty sad to know how crappy our 3D animation department really is and I feel bad for the students who couldn't get into Pixar class....  hopefully one day, Pixar class will be able to accept more students so more ppl will get a chance to experience this awesome opportunity.

Ok enough ranting, I've been wanting to put this bday card up for a long time, but never quite got the time to think about it.  This was for Irvin:

     inifinitigod

It's a picture key(ed?) on his dream car Infiniti G37 Coupe.  A gift from the G37 God himself.  I was merely his messanger who passed on this Holy symbol to Irvin's future car.  Here was Irvin's response to the design upon hearing the request to key it onto the car as soon as he buys it.

"You are the one person I would ALMOST let key my car to have that graphic on"

Of course, since I know him like a brother, I am pretty confident that what he really meant was:

"Though I really really want this graphic to be keyed onto my car, but I'm shy and I don't want to ask you straight-out.  However, if you are willing, I would be more than happy to let you do it right away."

It's okay Irvin, I totally understand.  I won't let you down.

In case you don't understand what the design is (Irvin got it right away), it's a human face combined with parts from G37 Coupe....you can figure out the rest.

    On a side note:

For those of you who are

    1. Bored outta your mind.

    2. Interested in sim-city or age of empire type games, BUT don't want to devote too much time into playing them.

    Here is a web-based game that I recommend:  http://www.ikariam.org

Overall, it's a very casual game for very casual gamer.  No installation required, just create player name and password...and you're in.  You can play it anywhere as long as you have access to internet.  (Guess what I was doing in class...)  Unlike many other web-based games, this one actually let you visually see your city grow from a simple village to an empire.  On top of that, you have to work together with other players in order to expand since each island has various limited resources.  It's more of a cooperative effort than simply gather an army and conquer each other.

Anyway, I just started 3 days ago and I enjoy the slow-pace casual gaming experience this has to offer me.  It helps when I have to deal with 3 hours classes with no break in between.  *cough* pixar class *cough*

If you ever decide to play this game, please play in World Zeta, and look for me on the island of Polieos.  (coordinate 66:54)  City name: Eternia
